Let’s celebrate!

On Friday night, a friend and I shared a bottle of champagne (Veuve Clicquot – my favourite) and a picnic from Marks and Spencer and Aldi (also favourites). champagne cork of celebration We were celebrating the fact that she was about to book a very exciting holiday and some good things that have happened in my business life. The bottle of champagne had been languishing at the bottom of my wine rack for far too long, waiting for a moment large enough to celebrate. When I discovered this friend was also a fan of this particular champagne we decided that we would make a plan to drink it whatever our circumstances, but as it turned out, we both had great things happen. Is that coincidental? Continue reading

Changing my perspective

Today’s subject has been particularly relevant to me recently. I have been involved in a couple of situations with people who are in conflict. Not comfortable. I have found myself getting dragged down by the conflict, but also ‘stuck’ in a way of thinking which is limiting.

For example, if my perspective on someone, lets say Miss T, is that she is a bully or that Mr F is lazy, I will be looking out for behaviour that justifies my perspective. It is not ‘fact’ that Miss T is a bully. It is not ‘fact’ that Mr F is lazy. The reality is that I have interpreted their words or behaviour in that way. I become unable to see the times that Miss T is gentle with others or Mr F works hard. It becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy. Continue reading

Bringing Cuba into my everyday life!

girl in Trinidad Coming back from Cuba has been like landing in some kind of parallel grey universe. Is the UK always this grim? Does anyone ever smile? Why did I ever take that flight home?

Or is it just that I miss the warmth and vibrancy of Cuba, the rainforest, lush green landscape and sandy beaches. Do I long for late nights of rum cocktails and salsa? Continue reading

Hello world!

This is my new website about life coaching and my practice.

It’s going to be an exciting journey!

Coaching is about working out what is important to you, setting goals and then working out together how you will reach those goals. It’s about an agenda which is entirely your own. It’s about who you truly are deep down as well as what you want to do with your life. The relationship between coach and client is very powerful and can enable you to dream bigger, make changes, stretch yourself more and move faster in the direction of your choice.

I live in Birmingham, but can work by telephone or Skype with clients anywhere in the UK or the world.
